From the Precept Leaflet 2024/25:

"It has been another busy and productive year, with progress being made across all the priorities of my Police and Crime Plan and I have highlighted some of them for you in this leaflet. Of course, if you would like to know more about my work and that of my office, I would encourage you to go online to my website – at dorset.pcc.police.uk – or simply scan the QR code below.

Funding for all the work that is happening in Dorset Police is more crucial than ever and I continue to lobby government for a fair deal for Dorset. I share the frustration of many of you that Dorset remains one of the worst funded forces in the country and, although I am absolutely determined to change that, in the meantime I still need your support when it comes to funding Dorset Police via the precept. It is for this reason that I am especially grateful to everyone who took part in the precept survey and made it clear that, although they would rather see funding coming from the government, the people of Dorset would support an increase in the precept. Moreover, many of you told me that you would be willing to contribute even more via the precept, should the government decide to remove the ‘cap’ on what funding could be raised by precept. I want to keep on delivering my Police and Crime Plan, the document that contains your policing priorities, and I am committed to ensuring that every penny of this precept funding will be spent wisely and that Dorset residents feel the benefits.

And, as promised, I will continue to be transparent about my precept decisions by providing you with updates such as the one you are reading right now. Thank you for your continued support, it is an honour to continue to serve as your Police and Crime Commissioner."
